We are excited to announce that we are offering a legal education scholarship for qualified applicants who display a commitment to entertainment law.

​

Purpose: The education scholarship is designed to help law students achieve their academic and professional dreams. This scholarship is available to (2) students pursuing a legal career in entertainment law.

Essay Prompt (500 words max.): Why are Entertainment Attorneys essential in the legal profession?

Award Maximum (2)*:  (One recipient per award)

1st Place: $1,000 USD       

2nd Place: $500 USD     

 

Application Deadline: 11:59PM (Eastern Standard Time) on October 31, 2021

Criteria: 

 

• Applicant must be a current law student pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at an ABA-accredited law school within the United States  

​

• Applicant must be in good academic standing

​​

• Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.

​

• Only one entry is permitted per student.

​

Application Process Steps:

​

1. Complete the online application (Full Name, mailing address, email, phone, school name, semester currently enrolled)

​

2. Compose and upload a response to the following essay prompt (500 words max.): Why are Entertainment Attorneys essential in the legal profession?

 

3. Upload an unofficial Law School Transcript and headshot

​

 

Criteria:

Additional Rules/Disclaimers

Payment of Scholarships:

Each recipient of the Scholarship will be randomly selected from among the qualifying candidates.

Winners will be announced by November 30, 2021. The Scholarship will be awarded in December 2021 and will be paid to the selected recipient as a one-time, non-renewable amount of $1,000 U.S. Dollars for 1st place and $500 U.S. Dollars for 2nd place. One recipient per award.

Scholarship awards and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Current or former employees or independent contractors are ineligible to apply.

 

Other:

Winning recipients agree and grant B. Lawrence Watkins & Associates, PC its agents and/or representatives, permission to post the applicant’s name, picture, school or university, and winning essay on the firm’s website, www.blwapc.com, and the firm’s marketing platforms, including but not limited to blog, newsletter, and social media accounts.
